Part Time Kennel Technician

Pay grade 9
($7.50 per hour)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Cleans and disinfects kennels, cages, equipment, and outside runs with appropriate cleaning agents in order to maintain a healthy, clean, safe, and sanitary facility for shelter animals and the public.
2. Follows appropriate disease prevention and control protocols.
3. Reports unusual issues or problems to supervisor.
4. Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Incumbents must work rotating shifts through the week and weekends.
Generally the hours are: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 6:30am – 9:30am
Tuesday, Thursday 8:30am – 11:30am

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Incumbents regularly stoop, bend, squat and walk/stand for up to 3-4 hours per day and lift, carry, push and pull loads of 25 – 50 pounds. Incumbents work in a damp environment and are frequently exposed to animal waste, fur, dander, unpleasant odors, loud noises and potentially hazardous materials and chemicals. Proper protective attire is provided.
